ABOUT KEEPING TOGETHER

My aim is to create beers that are succinct and easy to be around. Thoughtful engagement from the drinker is not mandatory, but these beers are participatory and collaborative by their very nature. KEEPING TOGETHER beers are a collaboration between myself and the mixed culture of yeast and bacteria used to make them, but ULTIMATELY they are A collaboration with the people who are experiencing the beer through their own unique lens of memory.⁣⁣⁣

Keeping Together is my attempt to produce thoughtful beers that reconnect us to each other. I feel that within the beverage industry there are many opportunities to use the things we make and the businesses we run to support each other and our communities. My DEEPEST hope is that through Keeping Together I am able to make a difference and affect some positive change in the world. I want the KEEPING TOGETHER beers to inspire people to reconnect with their humanity such that the collective empathy of the world might be increased, that we MAY remember that we are all in this together, collaborating on an ecstatic reality.⁣⁣

from JULY 2019 to may 2022, The kind folks at Half Acre Beer Co. in Chicago, ILlinois (@halfacrebeer) allowed me to take up residence in their original Chicago brewery where i was able to produce keeping together’s first beers. half acre’s team have been champions for craft for a long time and make some of the best beer in Chicagoland. I couldn't be more grateful to have been able to work alongside these passionate people during the early stages of keeping together’s development. ⁣⁣

though chicago was the perfect place for keeping together to get its start, as a texan my heart has always been drawn to more southern latitudes—specifically the magical high desert regions of the american southwest. in june 2022, my partner and i packed up our gear and headed to beautiful santa fe, new mexico to build a permanent brewery location for keeping together. we are working hard to get the brewery set up and are hoping to be open to the public lATE 2024.
